....oh, my!
Celebrations: January is FULL of birthdays. Everyone I know seems to have a January birthday. I am not quite sure what was happening 9 months prior, but it must have been sexy!! My birthday was January 7th and I will say that I have a whole new appreciation for birthdays. I have always loved my birthday. It is the only day of the year that was all mine (and the thousands of other people born that day...but lets keep the focus on me). I like to start celebrating my birth at the stoke of midnight and need the celebration to continue all day. If I can stretch it out all week- even better! This year however, I was thinking less about me and a whole lot more about my mom. I started thinking that really I should be celebrating her for giving me life on that day. The labor, the pain, the pushing, the sweating, the swearing.... really I should be getting HER presents every year thanking her for all her hard work. I should start celebrating my mom at midnight and her selfless actions on January 7th. That said, Mom, I love you and Ella, I am expecting a present on May 26th. Thank you.
Jeff's birthday was a week later on January 14th. (Thank you, Kathie for birthing such a wonderful man. I couldn't imagine my life without him). We went out the night before his birthday and got Aunt Lily to babysit. We had sushi/sake and movie night. We saw Avatar in real D 3D. Pretty awesome, but it made my eyes hurt and I got a small headache. When will we be able to see 3D without those silly little glasses??
Crawling: Ella crawled!! Well, pretty much. She has been rocking on her hands and knees for a month or so now but yesterday she got the basic mechanics down and crawled a couple times! She loves my IPhone (oh, these kids learn quickly) and I put it on the floor just out of her reach and she crawled about 5 feet until she got pissed and would go no further. I was so proud (and scared, since we have yet to baby proof the house). Jeff couldn't get her to crawl later that night and unfortunately wasn't there to see it earlier that day. I don't think he believes me, but I think he is just jealous. :)
Coupons: I have become a coupon mom. Or, at least I am figuring it out. My sister-in-law is a pro and I need to become her apprentice. We saved $50 in coupons at Target the other day and then some more savings at Walgreens, too! Then, the best deal of them all....$275 GE Refrigerator!! Best Buy accidentally listed the fridge on the website for $175. They forgot a number or two in the price. We sure did buy it and plan on selling it at a hefty profit. The list price is $2100. Let me know if you need a new (and discounted) refrigerator. We are just waiting to get an email from Best Buy letting us know that they cannot honor our purchase...So we will see... UPDATE: Best Buy canceled the order. :(
Hooray for updating the blog! This is kind of fun. Thanks for reading.
xoxo

Yay for starting a blog!! I promise to be a faithful reader (more faithful than I am at updating my own blog, oops!). Super yay for Ella crawling-I totally believe you, but I do wish she could have done it on 1/3 as I predicted. I still love her though. Let me know what help you want in couponing-that Money Saving Mom blog is a great place to start. And I heard about the fridge, that's so cool! I hope it ships!
