What is in a (celebrity) name??

What is in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet and an endorsement by a prominent celebrity/newspaper/magazine/politician should rack one up in the W column too, right? Let’s see where the endorsement chips have fallen:
ROMNEY  : Newt Gingrich, George W. Bush, George H. Bush, Jeb Bush, Rick Perry, Dick Cheney, John McCain, John Boehner, John Ashcroft, Rudy Giuliani,  Ross Perot, Rupert Murdoch, Donald Trump, Lindsay Lohan, Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, Meatloaf, The Osmonds, Kid Rock, Scott Baio, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, Ted Nugent, Kirk Cameron, Jenna Jameson, Peyton Manning, Kelsey Grammer, Adam Sandler, Tom Selleck, Gart Sinise, Cindy Crawford, Jerry Bruckheimer, Sylvester Stallone, Dean Cane, Pat Boone, Jeff Foxworthy,  Boston Herald, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, New York Post, The Detroit News, The Washington Times, The Washington Examiner, The New York Observer.
OBAMA: Bill Clinton, Colin Powell, Barbra Boxer, Al Franken, Jimmy Carter, Michael Bloomberg, Wesley Clark, Maya Angelou, Deepak Chopra, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Steven Spielberg, Morgan Freeman, Alec Baldwin, Jay Z & Beyonce, Will & Jada Smith, Lady Gaga, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Scott Bakula, Eva Longoria, Tyler Perry, Ben Folds, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Zooey Deschanel, Betty White, Billy Crystal, Jimmy Fallon, Ron Howard, David Lynch, Steven Soderbergh,  Joss Whedon, Peter Berg, Quentin Tarantino, JJ Abrams, Bill Cosby, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downy Jr., Oprah, Ellen, Martha Stewart, Steven King,  Michael Kors, Tom Ford, Gloria Steinem, Muhammad Ali,  Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune,  The Washington Post, Boston Globe, Miami Herald, Los Angeles Times, Detroit Free Press, The Salt Lake Tribune, The Economist, The New Yorker.
Now, granted, this is just a partial list and there are MANY MANY MANY politicians, publications and celebrities that I was not familiar with and chose not to include on this blog. Feel free to let me know if there are any omissions that you would like to include and I will be happy to add them.
I have no real political stance on endorsements, but I do wonder if I were to have a dinner party and invite any 5 living people, which column would the majority of my guests come from…I realize this is completely subjective and totally un-scientific, but I thought it was interesting.
